Here goes... call me egocentric if you want, after you read the story. I had the intention of writing more and add more players into the plot, but in the meantime I left the server for... "educational" reasons.

    Chapter I

White ghostly hands cross the darkness and take a deck of long cards from a dark table. Slowly, the melody of the shuffling of cards echo in the darkness. With a slow motion, the female white hands, release the cards once again upon the table and slides them, spreading them through the dark table in line. Then with two slim fingers, she draws a card out of an immensity of them and turns it up.

"The Guardian", she muttered with a voice which remembered spring and winter, summer and fall, dawn and dusk, life and death.
Then her perfect lips stretched and even though fadedly... she smiled.

The light passed kindly through the azure curtains of the room, forcing her glowing green eyes to open. She rose slowly and sat on her bed probing calmly the light effect caused by the curtains, bathing her room in deep blue.

    - I enjoy this room, it makes your hair appear like the ocean! - A male voice was heard beside her.

Instinctively, she took a small iron dagger from somewhere on her bed and held it against the man's throat.

    - Even in your own home you carry those things with you - The man asked with a smile - What would Kael think if he saw you like this?
    - Is that what you normaly would say whwn you enter a woman's room uninvited? - She replied in a harsh and cold tone.
    - Well - His smile widened as he looked at her body covered only by the sheets - I am your husband!
    - We are not married yet, and neither will we be, since I refused the agreement my family made. Turn around - She ordered. - You turn, and I kill you.
    - I wonder if you know how to manage that blade well. - He asked, without loosing his smile, yet obeying her command.
    - My mastery is with the sword. Not with the dagger, still the basis maintains... if it pierces your throat, the effect is the same.
    - A sword such as this? - He asked raising a sheathed sword on his left hand.
    - Yes, one such as this - She replied as she took the handle and unsheathed the sword, leaving the unprepared blood elf with the empty sheath on his hand.

With a more familiar feeling on her hand, she allowed the sheets to fall from her polished ivory like skin, now certain that if Niatharil dared to turn his eyes towards her, it would surely be the last time he saw anything at all. She turned her back to the mirror and beheld the scar on her back.

    - Cursed Night Elf! - She muttered, clenching her teeth as she grabbed and dressed a white tunic.

On that moment a knock was heard, a moment later a servant opened the door and entered the room bowing his head, until he saw the blood elf male, with his back turned to his lady, hands hanging on the air and an empty sword sheath hanging on one of them.

    - Lady Skaer! What is the meaning of this?
    - Worry not good Barhi, I just arrived. - Niatharil stated, as amusingly as he could.
    - And he was just on his way out - Skaer completed.
    - Can I turn now? - He asked.
    - No - She replied coldly, even though she had most of her clothes on already.
    - Milady! - The servant started, ignoring the presence of the intruder. - Please reconsider this. This is not what an elven lady should be doing.
    - I am following the same path my father followed. I see it not as shameful.
    - You are a member of the royal family, you are indispensable to your people.
    - Yes, so are the ten people above me in the line of succession.
    - You are important...
    - Of course I am... the Burning Legion came to prove the importance of every heir alive. Was it not for them, today I would still be the thirtieth in line of succession.
    - If you realize it, then please stop this nonsense. - The servant begged her.

Ignoring his pleas, she walked unhesitatingly towards Niatharil and took the sheath from his hand, returning the blade to its proper place.

    - Those clothes make you dazzling - Niatharil dared to pronounce as he gazed at her dressed on a white tunic, though men's clothes, she lost none of her femininity with them.

Contrary to Skaer's expectations Niatharil did not retracted his words even when she equipped her rusty metal mail over the tunic, nor when she dressed her small hands with gauntlets.

    - I will take this - Skaer said, placing the sword on her belt.

Niatharil replied only with a smile and a nod, and Skaer putting a battered shield on her back, left her room leaving both unrequited lover and servant gazing at her back.

    - Royalty - She muttered with a hint of despise on her voice - If their function is to serve and protect their people then they should do so. No point in crying over the past glories which have crumbled into ash already.

She stopped, her eyes drawn by the crimson glow of a red plate armor, once worn by her father in the war against the orcs during the second war. He left for the glory of his king and people, yet only his armor and the shards of his sword returned.

Her fingertips touched and caressed the vermilion armor, trimmed with gold. The scent of blood had already vanished, a reward of the years Skaer spent, cleaning the old armor. Her touch stopped at a large crack on the left side of the armor. A mark of an orcish ax, the mark of the wound which proved how her father died.

From the armor, her fingers turned to the bluish shards in front of the armor, the remains of the Illidari Bane Broad Sword, a legendary weapon crafted from the shards of a demon blade, purified, enchanted, and forged with the sole purpose of slaying demons.

Taking a single shard with her, and with a last look at the only object which marked her father's existence, she headed towards the exit of the palace, praying not to cross with any of the counselors or heirs to the throne, which took as a habit and joy to shun her for her decisions on how to live her life. As if her life was in anyway different from any of the elves living in and outside of SilverMoon.

As she exited the gates of the Sunfury Spire, she beheld the SilverMoon City Guardians. How she longed for the honor of being given one Blood Shield as they. How she longed to join her kin, proudly as a defender of SilverMoon, as a true Sin'Dorei!

Her steps drove her to the Farstriders’ Square and into the home of the Blood Knights. There she stood in awe of the shining Naaru, M’uru, bathing in its light for the longest of times.

    - Have you made your choice? – A strong but soothing voice.
    - Yes. – Skaer answered without turning to face the origin of the voice, but gazing even deeper at the naaru. Still she knew the voice belonged to Lady Liadrin, her mentor and matriarch of the Blood Knights. The very first Blood Elf paladin. – I have decided.
    - Then step forward and accept the path you have chosen.

With these words, Skaer stepped forward, towards the gleaming naaru. The light seemed to fill her body and mind and with it a sudden and pleasant feeling of lightness.

After long moments, Skaer opened her eyes slowly and looked at her hands. Even though she could not see it, she could feel the energy pulsing inside of her.

    - The path you will walk as of now will be a thorny one, yet you will not walk it alone. - Lady Liadrin said as she grabbed Skaer’s small hands in her own. There is some one I would like you to meet.

From the blue curtains behind Lady Liadrin, two figures appeared. One, a mighty Tauren clad completely in warrior’s plate armor, the other a Blood Elf, clad in the Judgment attires of a full fledged paladin.
That day, Skaer knew for the first time, the names of her two mentors, and the name of the guild she as a new member of the Horde was to join. The tauren warrior, Archon and the Blood Elf Sephiroth, leaders of The Wrath of God.

Her head tilted, and soon, either due to the cold or due to any other reason, Skaer’s eyes opened slowly, ending the dream of her past.

    - Reminiscing of the past, how rare of me. – She thought to herself.

She rose from the cold floor, using her Red Dragonscale Protector as support, and looked around slowly, analyzing the clod halls of Naxxramas with care. And to her right, on the center of the great circular saloon, she saw the mementos of a battle she would not forget as long as she lived. There untouched by warmth or life, stood the skeletal remains of the lich Kel’tuzad and in front of him stood the lifeless form of Archon, of the Horde, his dying battle roar trapped forever in a frozen cage of the lich’s ice attacks.

Skaer gazed painfully at her fallen mentor, like she had done so many times before, looking once again at all the scratches in his armor, all the cuts in his flesh and the raging look in his visage even though all life had already vanished from his eyes.
Perhaps in the afterlife, Archon still fought his enemies with the same might he had before his death, even before his last battle in Naxxramas.

    - You left without helping me get a good sword. – She said softly as her hand unconsciously felt the handle of her crude mace. – You broke your promise.

Only a moment after she could swear she could hear the tauren’s voice replying: “I don’t recall making any promise about that!”

    - I know. – She giggled quietly. – I lied!

Then, out of her backpack, she took a small stone and uttered a mere word which made the stone glow. In seconds, the emerald glow involved her completely, and with a last glare and a whispered phrase at her fallen mentor, she disappeared.

“Hail to you great Archon, leader of the mighty Wrath of God, herald of the Horde, mentor, brother and friend”

Note: i intend to write more, but I hardly know anyone in the server anymore so I need to collect data ^^
I long for Hands which can Tear through Darkness,
I long for Arms which can Embrace and Protect,
I long for a Mind which can Perceive only the Truth,
I long for a Body which can Withstand all Evil,
I long for a Heart which Cannot be Corrupted!

Yes, it would need stories like that!

It would be nice if it included some non-existing quests (made up by the players).

Also: lots and LOTS of screenshots and stories about questing, leverling and raiding... this would attract more players towards Croggess

That story is just beautifull please, finnish it I like a good peace of lecture now and then =)

I could write something myself aswell :p if only not all of my stories ended in pain, death, agony and bloodshed :o:rolleyes: nevertheless, I shall leave the writing to my superiors ^^

I could agree with the screenshots and stuff, but please do not make it too comic-like :p I like to visualise it myself =) Perhaps it would be better of with a somewhat mideaval-look :p with a few nice illustrations inbetween and sh*t :p (personal oppinion ofcourse, do with it as you like )

Nice idea, but you should must-have in content:

-How to join WoTLK server - with detailed information how to get and install WoTLK
-What is going on with Crogge's server? Why does it lag and crash?
-What does Crogge and his team do at the moment ?

That should be a must-have, cause they are the most frequently asked questions on server :p

I don't want to throw around bad karma again but baa-haaad idea. This is mostly all stuff that should remain undisclosed on the general outside. :(

Y'know, as nice as Blizzard is, explaining how to get the Wotlk client for free is not something they will like.
Why the server lags and crashes is nothing someone outside of the comunity should be told. Not good press. The same goes for the teams work. It would be better to update us more regularly, but I think we get enough info for now. No one outside should get even this knowledge. ;(
